Flashback: I'm five years old, anxiously waiting to open my Christmas gifts on Christmas day. It's finally my turn! I open the first box, hoping to see anything from Barbie to one of those big-girl Playskool toys... and I see an outfit from Gap Kids. I try to hide my disappointment, but I haven't quite mastered my emotions yet at such a tender age. I think I start crying.
God, I hated getting clothes when I was little. My mom, on the other hand, loved it and probably encouraged it from my relatives. All I knew was Barbie.
Things are a bit different now, and I'll use any excuse to encourage receiving clothes as gifts from the lovely people in my life. :) Sooooo, in related news- my 21st birthday is rapidly approaching (on September 30)! I've never been a huge fan of birthdays, but I have a feeling this one will be different. Or maybe I'll be too drunk to notice. Either way, I'll have a smile plastered on my face.
So here's my wishlist (please also excuse the TERRIBLE polyvoring I've done. I'm a disgrace to all the beautiful compositionalists out there):
American Apparel deserves a category of its own. Lamé, lamé, lamé. Plus anything drapey, high-waisted, or oversized. My favorites are the black matte lamé leggings, the white & black viscose sexuali-tank [which I've been hearing RAVE reviews about... dahhh, MUST HAVE!], high waisted jersey and/or lamé skirt, and the tri-blend and/or baby rib cardigan. Um... if only I could pull off those glasses, too.
Fall shoes. I used to be a self-proclaimed shoephobic. Now, not so much. Lovely fall shoes I'd love to have in my closet [clockwise, starting from top left]: Hunter wellies in black, Miss Sixty Ester boots, Frye riding boots, Minnetonka trampers in black, grey suede ankle boots that I think are from H&M?, Jeffrey Campbell oxford booties, Zara laceup oxford.
Black bags. Okay, this is just completely unrealistic, but I figured I'd throw it in there because it's my 'wishlist'... Can you believe I do not own a everyday black bag? Any of these would suit my fancy: Chanel, Givenchy, YSL, Balenciaga, Foley & Corinna (had to include one remotely within my price range), Louis Vuitton (their damier graphite is gorgeous. I don't care if it's slated for men), Marc by Marc.
Other things I am too lazy to add on to Polyvore:
1. Alexander Wang halter, $368 at Shopbop
2. Jeffrey Campbell Flawless boots in khaki, $165 at Solestruck
3. Elizabeth & James blazer, $395 at Shopbop
4. American Apparel zipper leggings, $52 at AA
5. Frye Andrea boots in grey, $428 at Shopbop
6. Juicy Couture Tinsley watch, $250 at Shopbop
7. Scarves of any kind- winter, fall, spring, whatever.
8. An Iphone. Preferably the white one.
9. A Blackberry Bold would do, too.
10. Canon Rebel Xti. I've been dying for a DSLR since... forever. :(
Is that too much to ask for? :)

the new look
Very minimalistic but I tried to keep it simple and clean... Somehow I feel like the sidebar is slightly more cluttered... Oh well, enjoy! xx
bottega, i love you
I've been trying my best to catch up with New York Fashion Week, but of course I got carried away and looked through all of what Milan had to offer first. I started making a 'Best of New York' montage, but then I saw Bottega's S/S 09 thumbs and.... I just had to!

I didn't include the first few looks (that seriously looked like they were made of leather. Were they?) but I just LOVED the transition from harsh to warm... read as the transition from winter to spring. The sunny, warm palette is just beautiful- for lack of better words- and so refreshing to the eye. And everything is just so WEARABLE. Good to know that the paperbag effect is still good for recycling this season... Thank you Bottega. You never cease to please.

unhealthy obsessions: alexander wang
Goddammit, I don't know what's come over me recently but I've been non-stop obsessing over Alexander Wang. It started in the summer (embarassingly- after his Uniqlo debut) and hasn't really reached cessation since. On the contrary, it's just kind of snowballed and become out of control.

Thankfully, the familiar hot faces at Shopbop are there to model all of Wang's latest looks in a familiar setting. Leather blazer. Tuxedo halter. Won't you be mine?
COACD posted this lovely video of Alice Dellal prancing around the city in different Wang getups... aka my dream come true.
Sigh. I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming [til the next sample sale...]. In other news-- theFashioneo is going to be getting a facelift very very shortly. Sorry I haven't been blogging recently- I have been swamped with school :(

my time at the tents
Parting was such sweet sorrow. I've never felt worse about leaving the city to return to dusty old DC...
Anyways, here are some pics that should sum up my trip pretty nicely!

Random, but my new favorite blazer. Is it weird that I bought one after Labor day? Who cares, you know I don't play by the rules anyway.

Arriving at the tents like a giddy little tourist (can you blame me?)
These cookies saved my life.. I swear
Part of the Wizard of Oz red slipper showcase- my faves by Tuleh
Beautiful, flowy fabrics at Tony Cohen. Awesome hair, too.
Havaianas!
Creeper pic of the Sartorialist! hahaha, I just had to.
at Iodice. Most of the stuff reminded me of Club Monaco's s/s 08 collection =X

Didn't get to see any major shows while I was there =( The other interns ran to Monique L'hullier leaving me and the other intern behind... saaaaad! Oh well. Hopefully I'll actually be able to make it out to more shows next season... with a legit pass. But it was a wonderful first experience. There were Blackberry Sunset Curves being given away almost every hour at the Blackberry lounge, and I was super bummed that I didn't get to come home with one! Just need to up my credentials a little bit more and next time I'll get to come back with more of those sweet goodie bags...
So tired, and I have a bunch of reading to do. Runway reviews & inspiration boards to come soon. Hope you're all having a good week!

[so tired.
on bus.
a little more eventful today... thanks to the rain. today's list of spotted folks include nigel barker<3, kelly osbourne- who is stunning in real life! who woulda thunk?!, nina garcia, another vh1 commentator- apparently he's some stylist, anddd my favorite- the sartorialist. nearly stabbed him off the steps with a copy of wwd. i was so starstruck as i watched him run around in the rain, snapping shots of beautiful women in even more beautiful clothes. SIGH!
btw, he's pretty short in person. again, who woulda thunk?
updates with pictures in a few.

pssst.. from the tents
[informal update;
first day was a blast. so pissed i couldn't have stayed for the entire week. the list of shows today were subpar, hence no supersightings- did spot andre leon talley having a rather light exchange with ivana trump (random much?!) oh yea, and leigh lezark looks just as lovely in real life as she does in photos.... i have garnered a strangeeee obsession with those darker types these days...
oh yea. this is so true. i love my havaianas with their black bottoms and silver SKINNY tops. the bottoms are emblazoned with a new york skyline and has "mercedes benz fashion week" written all over it. the best part- they're free, and i got to "design" them!
p.s.. gossip girl tonight? kind of wack. i lied before, i guess i am ready for f/w fashion on s&b. the hamptons lifestyle bores me to death!
p.p.s.. thanks to roger & dave for hosting my lonely ass for the past few days.]

stammy, i'm on my way
It's that time of year again... and as I am beginning my personal reports fashionably late, I do apologize for the delay! Looks like all of my fellow fashion bloggers have taken a chic leave of absence and have settled in New York City for the next few days. I'm actually en route to the city as we speak- I'm loving Bolt Bus with their comfy chairs, outlets, and wireless access. :)
Things I'm looking forward to for the next few days:
Be back in a few!
Things I'm looking forward to for the next few days:
- Actually seeing the tents (I've never been in NY for fall OR spring shows before, so I've yet to see the setup at Bryant Park!), which have taken on a 'voting' theme this season. Not quite sure how I feel about that... but I guess it's interesting to see a cross-promotion between fashion and politics...
- Working as a papergirl for WWD. The only downside? Having to wear a logoed black tshirt during my time at the tents. These are the times that remind me that accessories are key. Also, that I don't have any accessories to jazz up my outfits with. Haha.
- Shmoozing myself into shows sans invitations. :)
Do I even have to mention the street style? This photo from The Sartorialist excites me to no end.- As much as I hate to admit it- people watching. (read: celeb/model/editor spottings)
- Tonight: shopping, shopping, shopping for things to wear for my uber-shortlived stay here... My closet at school is too damn ill equipped! Arghhhhhhh
Be back in a few!

the bitch is back
Ain't karma a bitch? We know Blair Waldorf is.
Going back to school can be pretty rough (especially when you have to face the fact that it's your senior year... ugh). But with a new school year comes new episodes of our favorite guilty pleasures...

Blair Waldorf looked all kinds of wonderful in Marc by Marc at the White Party... which was my featured look of the day here! Wish we could see more of Gossip Girl's summer style, but I'm so excited to see Eric Daman's vision for this upcoming season...
