artista: david choe

Sorry for the unannounced leave of absence! The last few weeks of school had been insane and as soon as I got home for break, my entire family came for a weeklong visit. I finally have time to myself... until I start my stint at Vogue next Monday. I promise to blog about more interesting, fashion related posts VERY soon. Truth is, I've been addicted to my Tumblr account, which is one of the main reasons I've been neglecting this one. Someone posted this great watercolor by Korean artist David Choe... and I couldn't not blog about it! I went through his ENTIRE portfolio, which is amazing. Something different. My favorites were the drawings.

Check it all out at davidchoe.com.

h&m spring 2009

(Click for full view)

So I didn't get in on the Comme des Garcons x H&M madness, but after seeing these new photos from the Spring 2009 lookbook, I don't care as much. These photos are absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to get my hands on all of these pieces- especially the rolled up trousers, blazers, and bubbly dresses.

Just a quick update--

I got the internship at Vogue!!

I'll only be there for a few weeks in December/January, but I'm absolutely prepared to make them the best weeks I can. Wish me luck!

pas de deux

Finally! Scans have surfaced from the Vogue Germany shoot I went on a few months back. They're in the December 08 issue and I could not be any more pleased with the results. The images are simply breathtaking! And do I even have to mention those SHOES?!

Photoshoots can take days long at a time, but the end results are so fulfilling. Seeing the actual glossies remind me why I want to be who I want to be in the future.

Visit tFS for scans of the entire editorial.

a quick update

Hi readers!

So I've been rather successful at neglecting this blog... Ugh, my apologies :( I have a bunch of bookmarks waiting to be blogged about and I can't wait to catch up on them all. Pictures will be posted soon as well. I've been trying to figure out what to do during my stay at home for winter break, and somehow I've landed an interview with VOGUE in the accessories dept. Will keep you all updated on that situation as well.

So, I'll be back soon. Don't miss me too much! xx

P.S. Totally irrelevant but the flat black patent boots at Zara I let slip up last year are back!! Must have.

unhealthy obsessions: the olsen influence

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with the Olsens' style. As terrible as it might be to admit, I've been an avid fan of theirs since the early days of Full House and even their VHS sleepover/mystery movies! Although I think both of their personal styles are phenomenal, I'd have to say that Ashley's style has been more influential in my life. I love the way her elegant and mature personality translates into her wardrobe.

Imagine my elatedness when I found out about their new coffeetable read, Influence. I skimmed through the pages a couple of days ago and I instantly fell in love. From the interviews to the photospreads... everything about it was just so passionately delivered. It is beautifully constructed with amazing content featuring interviews of Karl Lagerfeld, Diane von Furstenberg, Christian Louboutin and more. A highly suggested read.

And for you Olsen addicts- I stumbled upon a great blog that showcases their individual and collective styles called Olsens Anonymous. Definitely one to bookmark!

Lastly, the ensemble Ashley is sporting on the far right is to die for. Definitely my inspiration for fall 08.

the shredded tee

After reading Camille's DIY tutorial for the shredded tee, I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. I had an old Nation LTD tee that was lying around (with the hem having conveniently come undone on its own) so I chose to use that one for my project.

Definitely not as cute as Camille's but I can already tell that it will be one of my staples for the summer! It's so breezy and wearable. Plus, it has such a unique look to it. Highly recommended!

On a side note, I really have to get my camera situation figured out. My backups' battery is hanging on by a thread and I was just about to get started on posting more of my outfits! Harrumph.
